Literature Text

Let's assume, for a while, that there is a kid stuck in a ditch.
Who knows how he got there? Was it his own fault? A freak aciddent?
But I'm sure you would understand how he's feeling; scared, lonely, possibly in pain

What would that kid do? I imagine he'd cry, he'd scream and shout for someone to save him.
But what if no one came? What if no one was there? Or no one cared?
Maybe the kid would still cry, because of his misfortune, or because of his desolate state

If hope never comes, why cry? Why complain or blame it on someone else?
Sure there might be a chance of someone coming to his rescue
But not likely this time

There instead comes a time when you've got to man-up and take charge of the situation;
Something that kid's got to come to terms with
It may be hard, it may be worrying, it may be impossible. But you know that kid can do it

Eventually, the kid will make his own way out of that horrible ditch
He will run back to his loved ones, enjoy the feeling of freedom and tell the tale of his escape
He will be more careful, be much wiser, and advise others of how they might escape a similar fate

But what would you do?
Would you be afraid, scream and cry? Would you complain, lie down and die?
Or would you find a way to overcome your obstacles?

No ditch is too high to climb out of. So don't be afraid
Heading back to the 'bravery' side of my poem style for this one. A bit odd to read I suppose, but i hope you enjoy it regardless =)
